Scientist calls for looking into the past for solutions in our future

Perry McCarty, a professor at Stanford University and widely recognized expert in biological processes used to control environmental contaminants, spoke at the Association of Environmental Engineering and Science Professors (AEESP; Champaign, III.) Invited Lecture at WEFTEC 2011 about the need to fully utilize anaerobic digestion as a way to do better in wastewater treatment. In the Oct. 17 lecture, "Back to the Future: Seeking Sustainability in Water Resources," McCarty reminded audience members how historically mankind has always viewed wastewater as a resource.
