New York City expanded its street corner public space recycling program late last month with 105 new blue and green recycling bins at 33 locations around the city. The blue bins are for metal, glass and plastic; the green ones are for paper. The containers are being placed at highly trafficked public spaces such as parks, ferry terminals and street intersections, according to a story in Newsday.
