Investment company to acquire International Absorbents for $30M

International Absorbents Inc. is being acquired by Kinderhook Industries LLC, an investment firm, in a deal worth about $30 million.rnShareholders in the Femdale, Wash.-based company will receive $4.75 per share in cash, which is an 18.2% premium over the closing price on Dec. 14. It also is a 22.6% premium over the average share price over the previous 20 days.rnInternational Absorbents uses recycled fiber to make a variety of products, including pet bedding and litter as well as spill cleanup, filtration and packaging products.
