Hazardous waste management in automotive repair shops (garages): An evaluation in the city of Puerto Montt, Region De Los Lagos,Chile

摘要

Since May 2010, Chile has officially become the first South American country member of the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD). The country has been making efforts in environmental matters, but it still ranks lower compared to other members as regards this issue. The increase in the country's economic activity, territorial disputes between people and the location of waste disposal and treatment are making the control of hazardous waste an imperative for public health (Matus, 2005).
