The commemorative award known as The James Jackson Medal is awarded annually by The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management for the best formal written Paper presented by any individual member of the Institution, irrespective of their class of membership, during the previous calendar year and for the second year is not restricted to those presented at meetings of the Institution or published in its journals.rnThis year the Award was made for the paper entitled "Using research-based knowledge to underpin waste and resources policy" which was published in Waste Management and Research Volume 25 No 3 June 2007. The lead author of the paper was Professor David C Wilson and the other authors were Nick C Blakey, Nadine A Smith and Louise Shaxson.
