The number of ships included in this year's edition of "The Market for Naval Surface Combatants" has been significantly inflated by the addition of two prolific classes of warship: the Chinese Project 022 fast attack craft and the South Korean Incheon class frigates. Between them, these two new classes add 73 units to give a projected total of 222 ships in the 2011-2020 timeframe. Excluding these ships, the baseline market has increased from 141 to 149 ships, representing a 5.6 percent climb over the total reported last year.
