Sony Appoints Kazuo Hirai as CEO

Sony Corporation has appointed Kazuo Hirai as the CEO and president of the company, effective April 1, 2012. Also Howard Stringer, current chairman, CEO, and president of the company, will become chairman of the board of directors in June 2012. He recommended the company's board of directors to appoint Hirai, currently executive deputy president, as his successor as president and CEO.
