Meeting Power Demand for Socio-economic Development

In recent years, the economy of Can Tho has experienced rapid annual growth of 18 per cent, creating great pressure on some industries such as water, electricity, telecoms, and infrastructure for economic development. In this context, Electricity Company No.2 has invest ed in developing the power network across Can Tho, using many sources of capital. The project to transform and develop the electricity grid in Can Tho with total investment capital of VND260 billion (US$16.25 million), which was put into operation in 2004, has improved the entire power network in the districts of Ninh Kicu, Cai Rang and Binh Thuy.
