摘要

A contemporary definition of VLSI placement problem isncharacterized by multiple objectives. These objectives are: timing, chipnarea, interconnection length and possibly others. In this paper, fuzzynlogic has been used to facilitate multiobjective decision-making innplacement for standard cell design style. A placement process has beenndefined in terms of linguistic variables, linguistic values andnmembership functions. Various objectives have been related bynhierarchical fuzzy logic rules implemented as object-orientednprogramming objects. It is demonstrated that a designed fuzzy logicnsystem is flexible in selecting goals and considering tradeoffs. Detailsnof implementation, experimental results and comparisons with othernsystems are provided
