Letters to vertiflite

I have just read your Vertiflite "Commentary: AHS International is the Forum for Vertical Flight." The Society's aspirations for Internationalism are very laudable, a message also promulgated by Mr Garrison at the recent CEO panel at Forum 69 and in the article on in the same edition of Vertiflite. However, for those of us who reside outside mainland US, there is perceived to be a very big threat to a truly integrated international society and that threat is called ITAR [International Traffic in Arms Regulations]. I am a UK citizen with over 35 years of experience in the helicopter industry and a member of AHS for 34 years. I am becoming increasingly concerned with the way ITAR is impacting the International aspect of the AHS. ITAR is forcing the US to become more and more technologically isolated from Europe and the rest of the world.
