A few weeks ago, I signed up my youngest son for a local soccer league and brought him to a high-school gym for team photos. Chaos. Kids were running all over the place. Harried photographers were dashing here and there, and confused parents were filling out forms. I noticed that, beyond the use of digital cameras to snap the kids' photos, there was not a stitch of high-tech equipment in the joint. I grabbed a seat in front of a teen-age girl wearing an iPod. Pen in hand, she was transferring information from the forms we parents were filling out to a "master" sheet. Talk about room for error.
