Spot activity was low to moderate last week as many participants attended the WNFM meeting in Monterey, CA. Recent events, announcements, and additional demand have all contributed to strengthening of the spot price over the last several weeks, which most recently peaked close to the $23.50 level on a day-to-day basis. Most of the latest activity has been for delivery towards the end of the year, and pricing under these deals has reflected the upward move along the forward curve that was precipitated by the spot price during the beginning of the week. At that time, pricing for delivery at year-end was closing in on the $24 level. However, as many were traveling back from the conference and spot activity remained light, bids retreated and a few offers also ticked back down. After peaking on Wednesday, the spot price flattened and slipped a little through Friday, returning to similar levels witnessed last Monday. Based on recent activity as well as current bids and offers, the Ux U3O8 Price increases to $23.40 per pound, up $0.05 for the week. The Ux 3-Year and 5-Year U3O8 Forward Prices were unchanged this week at $27.50 and $32.75 per pound, respectively.
