Spot volume remained high in May, especially for uraniumrnin terms of both transactions and volume that also resulted inrna continued upward trend in the spot U_3O_8 price for most ofrnthe month. In the month of May, a total of 46 spot transactionsrnwere reported with 43 deals involving U_3O_8, two as UF6,rnone for conversion services, and no enrichment deals. Ofrnthose transactions involving uranium, a total of 45 transactionsrnfor just over 8.1 million pounds U_3O_8 equivalent werernreported with several much larger-sized deals increasing volumernnear the end of the month, bringing annual spot volumernto 30.8 million pounds U_3O_8e under 173 transactions. Althoughrnthe spot market was rather active in May, the term marketrnremained quiet during the month for all forms with no reportedrnutility contract awards, although there were severalrnsmaller non-utility mid-term deals reported involving U_3O_8.
