The first week of January was very quiet for spot activity inrnany form. For many, today (Monday) is the first day back inrnthe office since the holidays, while others are traveling tornLondon for this week’s WNA working group meetings. Nextrnweek, the NEI Fuel Forum in Washington, DC, will providernthe second opportunity for market participants to meet faceto-rnface. Following these meetings, several participants arernhoping to get a better read of how the market may move thisrnyear.rnIn the meantime, outside of some interest in a very smallrnquantity of UF6, and last week’s selection by a non-U.S. utilityrnthat was evaluating offers received in late December forrnabout two reloads of EUP with delivery later this year, therernhave not been any reports of other spot activity. However,rnstill active in the market is a non-U.S. utility that is seekingrn300,000 pounds U3O8 equivalent with delivery in the first halfrnof 2018, and the IAEA is also awaiting offers to be submittedrnlater this month based on its request for EUP with deliveryrnthis year.
