Spot activity increased as month-end approached, with seven transactions booked on Friday alone. For the week, there were 12 spot transactions involving just over three million pounds U_3O_8 equivalent. That activity level continued into today, not only our month-end Monday, but also the last day of the month. A total of five transactions were booked as the 2:30 cutoff time approached with several done after that time. This activity puts overall confirmed spot volume for the month at about 5.7 million pounds U_3O_8e under 35 transactions. Offer prices have fluctuated from day to day over the past month, as spot demand has been much lower during August than what is traditionally seen this time of year. And, if we disregard two larger than normal recent spot transactions, volume would be much lower than historical August averages. With the lower demand, spot prices have been under some downward pressure for all delivery locations for much of the month. However, as demand has returned over the last week or so, some spot offers firmed slightly upward.
