With multiple announcementsof mine suspensions in response to the globalCOVID-19 pandemic, market participants have reactedquickly over the past week to news that the supply situationwill likely continue to tighten over the next several months.This response has resulted in a dramatic increase in the numberof spot transactions over the past week (26 spot deals involving2.8 million pounds U3O8). Although deals were donewith delivery at all locations, Cameco currently remains themost popular, followed closely in second place by Orano.Spot offers (or the multiple occasions over the past weekwhere offers were only indicative at best) responded to marketuncertainty, and price increased dramatically over this shortperiod of time.
