To further the discussion from last week’s cover on theCOVID-19 Fallout, nearly all major fuel suppliers are sendingnotifications to customers preparing for potential impacts onspecific portions of the nuclear fuel supply chain. Some recentspot activity may also be attributed to companies reactingto the uncertain impacts of the virus, whether it is based onmajor movements in the financial markets, or potential issuesrelated to production or transportation. Amid these competingconcerns and uncertainties, spot activity picked up lastweek, with a notable number of transactions reported onThursday and Friday. Although, even with a pickup in thenumber of deals (16 transactions for 2.4 million poundsU3O8), transaction prices continued to slip slightly throughoutthe week for all delivery locations.
