The spot uranium market has remained relatively quietsince the start of the new year, as some are still just starting toget back into the groove following the year-end holidays andothers are traveling to London this week for the JanuaryWNA working group meetings. Over the past week, limitedactivity has resulted in only three spot deals reported involving300,000 pounds U_3O_8. The price decline that started latein the year as demand essentially came to a standstill sinceDecember 19 has continued into the first couple of weeks ofJanuary, and as transactions were confirmed early last week,the spot price fell further. Based on recent activity as well ascurrently available bids and offers, the Ux U_3O_8 Price falls to$24.60 per pound, down $0.25 for the week. The Ux 3-Yearand 5-Year U_3O_8 Forward Prices also slip to $28.75 and$32.50 per pound, respectively (see chart on page 9). Whatlittle activity that has been reported reflects that the preferreddelivery location remains at Cameco, and little to no activityhas been reported for delivery at either ConverDyn or Oranosince about the middle of December.
