Nearly 200 participants convened at the Omni Parker House in Boston, Massachusetts to attend the Nuclear Energy Institute’s (NEI) International Uranium Fuel Seminar (IUFS) held on October 28-31. While Boston Red Sox fans were celebrating a World Series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers, nuclear industry professionals were busy strategizing about how to confront the various issues impacting the front end of the nuclear fuel cycle. Some of the key issues discussed during the four-day event were trade restrictions under review by the U.S. Department of Commerce (DOC) as well as the outlook for nuclear power operations in the U.S. in light of ongoing electric power market challenges.
