While both spot conversion and enrichment activity were limited during October, spot uranium volumes remained high. For the month, a total of 48 spot transactions were reported. Of this total, 46 involved U3O8, with only one as conversion and one as EUP. Of the deals that contained uranium, there were 47 transactions involving just over 6.2 million pounds U3O8. In addition to higher than average spot uranium volume in October, a continued increase in both interest and activity for options were reported by multiple parties. For term, a number of utilities remained active evaluating offers, and two utility term contract awards were reported, one involving U3O8 and one for conversion. There were also several nonutility mid-term contract awards involving uranium.
