As we near the holiday season, spot market activity hascontinued at higher volume levels that started in April. And,given that November has historically tended to post highermonthly volume, activity through the first 12 days of themonths has followed that trend as well. Over the past week,ten additional spot transactions involving about 1.5 millionpounds U3O8 have been reported, bringing the monthly totalsto almost 3.5 million pounds under 21 transactions. Followinga larger producer request two weeks ago, part of lastweek’s activity was spurred by a larger trader request. Whilethe most active buyers last week were traders, purchases werealso completed by producers and utilities. Offers under eachround of transactions reflected further strengthening in priceregardless of delivery time period, and activity within thethree-month delivery period reported multiple transactions ator pushing above the $29 level. Based on recent activity aswell as currently available bids and offers, the Ux U3O8 Priceincreases to $29.10 per pound, up $0.30 for the week. The Ux3-Year and 5-Year U3O8 Forward Prices also increase thisweek to $32.25 and $35.25 per pound, respectively (see charton page 10).
