Racing home from work, you can't remember whether the kids finished off that quart of milk or whether there's enough lettuce in the fridge for a salad. Not a problem. Just whip out your video cell phone, dial into the home network computer, and presto: an up-to-the-minute list of the refrigerator's contents. "You can have access from anywhere in the world," gushes Yuko Matsumoto, as she guides visitors around Matsushita Electric Industrial's experimental wired house. And, yes, she hastens to add, "it also works from the supermarket."
