Worlding Cities: Asian Experiments and the Art of Being Global

The field of Urban Studies has been invigorated by a revival of comparative research. Such a trend pays homage to Robinson's (2011: 16) call for the experiences of variegated cities around the world to feature as routine resources for the formulation of a new urban theory that is attentive to the experiential and imaginative ways in which places are drawn together or kept apart. Such work is invaluable in expanding an understanding of the interconnectedness of the urban beyond the paradigmatic exemplars (New York, London, Tokyo, etc.) that continue to feature today.
