China-Europe spatial relationship

With 'the rise of the South' or the emerging economic powers like Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS), the world is entering a new phase in a global multipolar way. In particular, China is predicted to soon surpass the United States as the top global economic power (Maddison 2006). In recent years, there has been an enormous and explosive increase in the number of books and information on China, and obviously its growth is having a great impact upon Europe, which can be noticed and seen at different scale of locations from small community to the European Union policies. Hence, Europe and China or BRICS is becoming a hot and controversial topic these days, and a wide debate has developed.
