摘要

THE UK oil and gas regulator has awarded a carbon dioxide appraisal and storage licence to Harbour Energy, covering the UK-listed independent company's V Net Zero project. The licence awarded by the Oil & Gas Authority (OGA) covers an area in the southern North Sea off the coast of Immingham, Lincolnshire. Harbour's proposal for the project is to store CO_2 in geological formations about 9000 feet below the seabed in the depleted Viking and Victor gas fields, about 140 kilometres offshore. The V Net Zero project involves a plan to transport CO_2 along a newly constructed pipeline from Immingham to Theddlethorpe and to reuse about 120 kilometres of the Lincolnshire Offshore Gas Gathering System pipeline. OGA chief executive Andy Samuel said: "The OGA is very pleased to award this licence for a project that should make a significant contribution towards the net-zero target.
