Trident opens yard talks in floater hunt

PRIVATE equity backed player Trident Energy has approached a clutch of Chinese shipyards as it considers deploying a floating production, storage and offloading vessel to redevelop a pair of mature fields in Brazil's Campos basin. The UK-based operator is sounding out yard interest in providing financing and also engineering, procurement and construction services for the floater to help ramp up production at the Pampo and Enchova shallow-water cluster that it agreed to acquire from Petrobras in 2019.
