Touchstone hits gas at latest well in Trinidad

CANADIAN junior Touchstone Exploration has unearthed more natural gas pay at its onshore Ortoire block in Trinidad & Tobago with another success at a well testing deeper targets. The Cascadura Deep-1 well encountered "significant hydrocarbon accumulations" despite being stopped well short of its targeted total depth. The well was drilled to a total depth of 8303 feet, shy of the 10,100 feet that had been planned, after high pressure gas zones were encountered. Total sand thickness of 2100 feet was found in the Herrera formation, with wireline logs indicating net gas pay of approximately 1315 feet in four thrust sheets in the Herrera sands from a depth of 5455 feet to total depth.
