Eni signs Egypt deals

ENI has signed deals with Egypt's government and other parties that pave the way for the Damietta liquefied natural gas plant on Egypt's Mediterranean coast to resume operations after being idled since 2012. Eni signed the agreements with the government, the state duo of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) and Egyptian Natural Gas (EGAS) plus Spanish company Naturgy. Eni said the agreements will allow the resumption of operations at Damietta - owned by SEGAS - in the first quarter next year. The plant has a capacity of 7.56 billion cubic metres per annum of gas.
