A joint venture between Malaysian contractors Handal Energy and Borneo Seaoffshore Engineering has withdrawn from a contract with Petronas covering a water injection module and taken legal action against offshore fabrication veteran Brian Chang. In June last year, Handal and Borneo Seaoffshore were awarded a contract by Petronas to provide a water injection module on a mobile offshore unit, which was due to be delivered in March 2020. Handal said a contract was then awarded to a third party for construction of the module and offshore unit using "Mono Column technology by Brian Chang". The contractor failed to deliver on time and consequently, both Petronas and the joint venture agreed for the joint venture to withdraw from the contract.
