MISC closing in on deal for new Brazilian floater

THE Petrobras-led Libra consortium is on course to sign a letter of intent with Malaysian floater specialist MISC for the charter of another floating production, storage and offloading vessel to serve the giant Mero field in the Santos basin pre-salt province off Brazil. Talks between Petrobras and MISC have been proceeding since the Kuala Lumpur-based company emerged as the apparent front-runner in a tender to supply a third FPSO on the Mero field. The contractor was invited for further talks on commercial aspects of the proposal.
