Ashton closes Maules Creek deal; plans public float

Rio Tinto has confirmed the sale of its Maules Creek thermal/semi-soft prospect in New South Wales to Aston Resources, the private company controlled by former major Macarthur Coal shareholder, Nathan Tinkler, for 480 million Australia dollars (434 million dollars).
