PRIVATELY owned SundaGas is progressing with its initial work programme in the area of the Chuditch offshore discovery in Timor-Leste, according to one of its shareholders. SundaGas and Timor Leste's national oil company Timor Gap were awarded the TL-SO-19-16 production sharing contract in late 2019. During the first two years of the initial three-year term, there is an obligation to reprocess 800 square kilometres of 3D seismic and 2000 line kilometres of 2D seismic data. SundaGas is progressing with that work, said Baron Oil, which has a 33.33% shareholding in SundaGas' Timor-Leste subsidiary. Most of the work is desk and computer-based and should not be unduly affected by current movement . restrictions, although gaining access to the necessary data is being delayed, said Baron.
