US Gulf find for Byron

AUSTRALIAN junior Byron Energy has hit oil and gas in its latest well on South Marsh Island Block 71 (SM71) in the US Gulf of Mexico. Byron confirmed this week that the SM71 F5 well had reached a total depth of 8505 feet, with logs indicating the well intersected 39 feet of net gas pay in the primary target D5 sand, along with 16 feet on net oil pay in the i3 Sand and another 25 feet of net oil pay in the J sand.
