Galp stars in Spanish solar push

PORTUGAL'S Galp Energia has signed an agreement with Spanish construction player ACS Group to acquire a large solar photovoltaic portfolio in a €2.2 billion ($2.4 billion) deal. Galp said the deal for the acquisition, development and construction of ACS's solar PV projects in Spain will make it the "largest solar energy players in the Iberian Peninsula". The assets include PV projects already in operation with an installed capacity of 900 megawatts and projects under development or under licensing that will allow a total installed generation capacity of 2.9 gigawatts by 2023.
