Sputnik success signals new Barents Sea orbit

NORWEGIAN operator Equinor's Sputnik discovery has opened up a new Barents Sea play that oil companies and Norwegian authorities believe can reveal several large discoveries. The company completed the wildcat in production licence 855 last week, with preliminary estimates putting the Triassic sandstone light-oil find at 20 million to 65 million barrels of oil equivalent.
