Eni in major Persian Guf exploration push

ENI has made a major push into the Persian Gulf, picking up explo ration rights in Oman, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain as the Italian operator looks to catch up with other European and US oil companies with a long history of working in the region. Eni and Oman Oil Company Exploration & Production (OOCEP) signed an exploration and produc tion sharing agreement (EPSA) for onshore Block 47 with the Omani government. Block 47, covering 8500 square kilometres, was awarded to Eni and OOCEP following a joint bid as part of the 2017 Oman licensing round.
