Petrobras gains crucial backing for a new wave of FPSO investment

BRAZILIAN federal environmental regulator Ibama has granted Petrobras a preliminary licence for a new wave of multi-billion-dollar investments to develop massive resources in the Santos basin pre-salt province. The third phase of the pre-salt development strategy will feature 12 floating production, storage and offloading vessels that are expected to add installed capacity of more than 1.7 million barrels per day of oil and 80 million cubic metres per day of natural gas.
