ENQUEST is confident it is making progress in revitalising operations at Magnus, the UK's most northerly oil and gas field, as the UK-based independent gears up to drill two further wells later this year to sustain output. EnQuest officials told Upstream this week that production at Magnus is running ahead of plans at about 20,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The strong performance has helped offset production issues EnQuest has suffered at the Kraken heavy-oil field and will help it increase its overall production by 20% this year to between 63,000 and 70,000 boepd.
