INDIAN Prime Minister Narendra Modi is poised to return to power for a second five-year term, with most exit polls predicting a clear majority for the incumbent government led by his Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The results of India's gargantuan electoral exercise are yet to be confirmed but pollsters are predicting a landslide victory for the Modi-led administration. Such a result will likely be welcomed by most in the oil and gas industry as a harbinger of stability for the industry even if some participants in such an internationally focused sector may be concerned about the increasingly nationalistic tone of the BJP.
