Changbei approval for Shell

CHINA'S Ministry of Environment Protection has endorsed the environmental impact assessment for Anglo-Dutch supermajor Shell to develop the second phase of its Changbei tight gas play in northern China's Ordos basin, which holds estimated proven tight gas reserves of 117 billion cubic metres, writes Xu Yihe. The decision paves the way for the National Development & Reform Commission to approve the field's overall development plan, which was finalised four years ago.
