MEXICAN state oil company Pemex has awarded several major drilling contracts via a restricted invitation process, with two packages in the Gulf of Mexico and a third onshore, writes Kathrine Schmidt. Pemex said the work was for "placing into operation productive units with support for well interventions". Pemex previously said it aimed to award the contracts as part of its push to boost Mexican production, with the company planning to drill 73 offshore and 44 onshore wells.
