The global homeland security market for unmanned vehicle systems, while small in comparison with the market for their military use, is poised for significant growth over the next decade and beyond. Spurred by the successes of unmanned vehicles used by military forces, notably in Iraq and Afghanistan, some domestic security organizations are using or testing unmanned aerial vehicles and unmanned ground vehicles, and are beginning to see the potential of unmanned surface and underwater vehicles as well.
