Lionel Kenneth Phillip Crabb was born on 28 January 1909 in Streatham. Serving as a frogman with the Royal Navy during World War II, he gained a most distinguished war record, which included awards of the George Medal and the OBE. Commander Crabb died, presumably on the 19 April 1956, during what appeared to be an ill-conceived and badly planned covert military operation in Portsmouth Harbour. The secrecy of this operation and, in particular, of his fate has naturally led to numerous conspiracy theories being developed in the ensuing years. At least nine books have been published that discuss and develop these theories. This book, in a concise manner, presents the known facts, analyses much conflicting evidence and concludes with what most likely happened to him.
