UNDERSTANDING THRUST ANGLE & TOE

The thrust angle is a line drawn perpendicular to the rear axle's centerline. It is the direction which the rear axle is aimed compared to the total toe and the vehicle's centerline. It confirms if the rear axle is parallel to its front axle and that the wheelbase on both sides of the vehicle is the same. It is also a function of the toe angles of the rear axle. It is one of the most important diagnostic angles during an alignment because it can change the angle of the steering wheel when the vehicle is moving.
