Improving Industry, New Challenges

In mid-November, Underground Construction and Pipeline & Gas Journal magazines hosted their annual contractors round table for the distribution and transmission underground construction markets. Industry leaders participating were Ken Gabrielse, executive vice president, Gabe's Construction Co., and current president of the Distribution Contractors Association; Don W. Thorn, vice president, Welded Construction; Frank L. Patterson, president, Patterson & Wilder; and Joseph H. Versnel, president, Arby Construction Inc. Though there was a common thread of issues facing the industry participants, both large and small, much of the discussion centered around facilitating their companies to better deal with improving market conditions.
