A joint venture of Scott Wilson and Omek has been appointed as independent engineer (IE) to oversee construction of the 378km long motorway concession being built by the Autopistas Helenicas venture, part of which involves tunnel works in difficult terrain.rnThe IE contract is worth US$26M and the JV starts work late 2007. The concessionaire, Autopistas Helenicas, is a JV of Iridium Concesiones de Infraestructuras (a subsidiary of ACS Group), Cintra (part of Ferrovial) and local firm GEK-Terna. The 30-year concession was budgeted to require about US$1.4bn of investment.
