Use of analysis reported by Silcock (1997) in further research has brought to light several small but non-trivial algebraic errors in his paper. None of these affect his principal findings or the techniques based upon them which are reported in the paper. But they do affect some of the equations in the paper in ways that seem to have resulted from a mixture of small errors in the original algebra and other errors in proofreading, and the former are likely to have some effect on some details of his numerical example. More important, however, is that readers may be misled by making use in their own work of the erroneous equations as they appear in the paper.
