Application of NOx Storage Reduction Catalyst to Diesel Engines

Application of NOx storage reduction catalyst to diesel engine is realized by the use of new diesel combustion technology. This application is described as compared with selective catalytic reduction with hydrocarbon or urea. In case of diesel engines, deterioration of catalytic activity is caused by not only sulfur poisoning and thermal degradation but also high sulfur concentration in fuel, low-temperature exhaust gas and change of reducing agent to hydrocarbon.
