Emissions from domestic transport must be reduced by 14% over the next decade

In July The Government unveiled its Low Carbon Industrial strategy, which outlines how the UK will meet its pledge to reduce the country's carbon emissions by 34 percent on 1990 levels by 2020. The strategy is centred on reducing carbon and GHG emissions without increasing cost to the individual, and highlights sectors which will need to engage fully with the plans in order to achieve a low carbon future. One of the major sectors targeted to reduce emissions is domestic transport, which currently contributes to a fifth of UK GHG emissions.
