Deadline approaches for Trailer Innovation award entries

UK firms with innovative ideas in trailer engineering are being urged to take part in a pan-European award scheme. There are five categories in the Trailer Innovation 2009 awards: concept, chassis, body, components and safety.rnThe last time the scheme was run, in 2006, it attracted 63 entries from 49 companies (Transport Engineer October 2006). The clever SCM (Steering Correction Mechanism) self-steering trailer axle from Silvertip Design of Richmond, North Yorkshire won top prize in the concept category, ahead of Schmitz Cargobull's SCS Varios variable roof-height and coupling-height system.
